Well-child visits, dental care, and healthy child development

To ensure that your child stays healthy and on track with expected developmental progress after birth, it is important to have regular well-child checkups. Schedule well-child checkups as recommended by your doctor and talk to your doctor if you have any concerns about your child's health and development.

Regular dental care for everyone ages one year and older is important. Developing good habits at an early age helps children begin a lifetime of healthy teeth and gums. Children need dental checkups too! The ideal time for a child’s first dentist visit is after the first tooth comes in or before their first birthday. You can earn a $25 gift card when your child completes an annual dental visit by a network dentist.

Early childhood immunizations protect your child against diseases and minimize their risk of serious illness or death from preventable diseases. Learn more:

Get care for your children at your home

The Hennepin Healthcare Pediatric Mobile Clinic provides healthcare and immunizations for children. To schedule the mobile clinic to visit your home, call 612-430-2251. Leave a voicemail with your name and phone number. Hennepin Healthcare staff will follow up with you on the details.
